Journey's is a free Bereavement Support Group

A 6 week course will begin each Monday, June 4 through July 9, 2012 10:00 - 11:30 a.m., at The Renaissance, 101 W. National Ave., Brazil. Russell “Rusty” G. Walden

Russell “Rusty” G. Walden, 49, of Coal City, went to be with the Lord February 16, 2012 at 3:05pm at Methodist Hospital, Indianapolis following a lengthy battle with respiratory disorders.

Rusty was born in Clay County, Indiana March 21, 1962, the son of Edgar and Joan (Love) Walden. He graduated from Clay City High School with the class of 1980. He married Shannon Miller July 14, 1990 at the Lawton Street Christian Church, in Jasonville, IN. Rusty spent much of his life working as a heavy equipment operator at several area coal mines.

Rusty enjoyed hunting, fishing and maintaining the Good Hope Baptist Church Camp Ground. He loved spending time with his family and friends and going on golf cart rides with his dog Brandi.

He was a faithful member of the Good Hope Baptist Church.

He was preceded in death by his parents Edgar and Joan (Love) Walden Hockman.

Rusty is survived by his wife Shannon of Coal City; daughters: Kristen Downs (Shawnon) of Evansville and Taylor Walden of Coal City; son Justin Walden of Terre Haute; grandchildren: Destiny Anderson, Austin Walden, and Brailyn Walden; siblings: Ginger Eib (Bob) of Bradenton, Fl, Peggy Lamneck (Gene) Rome, GA, Eddie Walden (Carol) Jacksonville, FL, Steve Walden (Michelle) of Terre Haute, Susan Walden Hutson (Kevin) of Terre Haute, and Terry Walden (Diana) of Middlebury; a very special Golden Retriever Brandi; as well as several nieces, nephews and extended family members.

Services will be at Good Hope Baptist Church, 440 W. Co. Rd. 850 S. Clay City, IN 47841, Sunday, February 19, 2012 at 3:30pm. Burial will follow at Maple Grove Cemetery. Visitation will be at Schoppenhorst Funeral Home, 301 E. Eighth St. Clay City, Saturday from 3pm until 8pm and again Sunday from 1:30pm until time of services. In lieu of flowers donations may be made in Rusty’s name to Methodist Health Foundation c/o Transplant Center P.O. Box 1367 Indianapolis, IN 46206.
