Douglas Franklin Harrison

Douglas Franklin Harrison was called home to be with the Lord on September 4, 2010. He had fought a long hard battle with cancer.

Doug and his wife Anita owned and operated Harrison Trucking for 25 years before he was forced to retire due to bad health.

He was born September 10, 1962 to Larry and Marilyn (Riggs) Harrison, in Camden, New Jersey. Both parents preceded him in death.

Survivors include his wife Anita, who was at his side during this long battle with cancer. Son Mark Vandever (Lea); granddaughters Allie Atkinson and Casey Vandever; great grandson Spencer; great granddaughter Raegan Nichole; mother since December 1975 Emma Harrison; sisters Julie Bowman (Mike), Melissa Allen (Todd); brothers Tim Butts (Lisa) Mark Butts (Trish), David Butts (Twila); mother-in-law Rebecca Loveless, brother and sister-in-law Mike and Holly Cassidy, Brent Loveless, several aunts and uncles – Jerry and Donna Green of Texas; Rick and Brenda Waltermire of Missouri, Jack and Marilyn Harrison, Reit and Marlyn Wolf; Darrel and Carol Harrison, Terry Clodfelter and Cathy Traverse.

Doug was a member of First Christian Church in Brazil, IN and a member of the Loyal Berean Sunday School Class of which he was past president. Doug had a special bond with his Sunday school class and loved them very much!

Funeral Information

Doug insists that there would be no suits and ties at his service. This is a joyful time for him. Visitation will be at First Christian Church, Brazil, IN Tuesday, September 7, 2010 from 4-8pm and again Wednesday from 10am until time of services. Services will be at the church Wednesday, at 11am, with Chris Gregg officiating and Gary Clatfelter and Charlie Lucas assisting. Burial will follow at Clearview Cemetery.
