Karen Sue O達oyle, 51, of Ft. Wayne, IN died at Parkview Hospital March 8, 2010.

She was born in Brazil, IN September 23, 1958 to Rex and Betty (Williams) Elwell. Karen graduated from Brazil High School with the class of 1977. During high school she was a member of the marching band where she played the flute and served as the Drum Major. Following high school she attended Indiana State University and graduated with a degree in Elementary Education. She moved to Ft. Wayne Indiana in the early 80痴. She was currently teaching with the Ft. Wayne Community School Corporation at Adams Elementary as a Physical Education teacher.

Before moving to Fort Wayne she played for the Brazil Concert Band. She also worked at the Forest Park Pool as the manager. She was an avid tennis player and taught tennis lessons and swimming lessons.

Karen was a member of The Fort Wayne Flash, a women痴 professional football team in Fort Wayne. She also volunteered with the Special Olympics in the Fort Wayne area.

She loved her students,and had a compassionate heart for those in need. She also had a caring heart for stray animals. Karen had a contagious laugh that will be remembered by all who knew her.

She was preceded in death by her parents Rex and Betty Elwell.

Survivors include her four sons: Patrick O達oyle, John Paul O達oyle, Casey O達oyle and Thomas O達oyle all of Ft. Wayne, IN; sister Rexanne and husband Jerry Laue of Brazil; nephew Brandon Sneath of Indianapolis, nieces Autumn Sheese and husband Zach of Indianapolis, Cari Laue, Corey Laue both of Brazil and great nephew Macalister Sheese of Indianapolis.

Funeral Information

Services for Karen will be at the Annunciation of the Blessed Virgin Mary Catholic Church, in Brazil, Friday, March 12, 2010 at 11:00am. Burial will follow at Clearview Cemetery. Visitation will be at French Funeral Home Thursday from 4-8pm.

Donations Information

In lieu of flowers donation may be made to Special Olympics.
