Elwood KussSeptember 08, 1923 - July 23, 2010 Elwood Kuss
Elwood Kuss, 86, of Centerpoint, IN passed away at Springhill Village, in Terre Haute, July 23, 2010 following an extended illness. He was born September 8, 1923, in Milwaukee, WI the son of Ferdinand and Lillian (Unger) Kuss. He graduated from Boys Technical School in Milwaukee where he learned to be a master mechanic. He married Arlene Kroll May 27, 1944. Elwood joined the United States Army as an Engineer during WWII. After the war ended he worked for Arabian – American Oil Company in Saudi – Arabia for 1 ½ years. He moved back to Milwaukee and developed and operated Hill View Sand and Gravel Pit in Waukesha County, WI for 30 years before retiring at the age of 62. Following retirement he and his wife Arlene moved to Fort Meyers, Florida. There he enjoyed swimming and spending time in the water. They also worked for Hertz Rental Company driving cars all across the state of Florida. He was a member of the American Legion and the Veterans of Foreign Wars in Wisconsin. He was preceded in death by his parents; brother Ralph Kuss and a sister Laverne Dodd. He is survived by his wife Arlene as well as several nieces, nephews and extended family members. Funeral InformationVisitation for Mr. Kuss will be at French Funeral Home, Wednesday, July 28, 2010 from 5-7pm. At his request cremation services will be provided. |
